The Ohio Casino Control Commission recently released the yearly revenue reports for the state’s four operating casinos. Jack Cleveland Casino saw yet another decline in annual revenues while the state’s three other casinos saw an increase from 2016 to 2017.
Jack Cleveland Casino was down around 1% with $201.4 million earned in 2017, a little less than the $203.6 million earned in 2016. The Cleveland casino was the only one to report a yearly decrease. The Jack Cincinnati Casino earned $198 million for 2017, a nice increase from the $189.2 million in 2016. The Hollywood Casino Columbus also saw a nice increase, moving from $213 million in 2016 to $221 million by the end of 2017. The Hollywood Casino Toledo saw the smallest increase in revenues, moving from $191.6 million in 2016 to $198.6 million last year.
For the Cleveland Casino, the revenues have continued to decrease year after year. If you go back to 2013, the casino had earned just over $242 million for the year. Revenues continued to decline from there, with $220.4 million earned in 2014, $212.7 million in 2015 and of course, the much lower $203.6 million in 2016 and the $201.4 million last year (pdf).
Statewide, the casinos in Ohio brought in $70.1 million for December, a nice increase from the same month in 2016 of 5.7%. As far as the state racinos are concerned, monthly revenues were up 7.5% when reviewing December earnings.
